This paper aims to analyze the tendency of research on local broadcasting, and to explore future follow-up tasks based on this. The analysis targets 166 academic papers carried out from the initial papers published in the KCI-accredited journals until 2019. The purpose of the research is to present the overall trend of research conducted so far, including the subject, method, subject, and regional units, and ultimately to present practical actions for the development of local broadcasting. As a result of analyzing research trends, they emphasized practical tasks such as creating an institutional foundation for local broadcasting, strengthening content production and distribution capabilities, producing news programs to strengthen localism, and building their own broadcasting capabilities. As a future task for local broadcasting research, awareness of the importance of field research and local acceptor research, interest in academic and industry, use of new media or legal research, relationship with local governments, hyper-local media, expansion into micro-field of broadcasting contents. Finally, despite the rapidly changing broadcasting landscape, research on local broadcasting"s crisis diagnosis and action to break through it should continue, and such research is valuable and meaningful as it reflects the concerns and realities of local communities as well as local broadcasting.
