Obesity is often associated with non-resolving inflammation in adipose tissue, which is a key pathologic event that leads to insulin resistance and metabolic dysregulation. Specialized pro resolving mediators (SPMs) are a class of endogenous lipids that trigger and orchestrate the resolution of inflammation. In this regard, dysregulation of SPM biosynthesis in adipose tissue involves pathogenesis of obesity-related metabolic disease. Here, we examined obesity-driven defects in SMP biosynthesis in adipose tissue and determine the metabolic phenotype of Alox15 KO mice.
