This study is contrastive research on the tonal features in the Miyakonojo dialect and in the Goseong dialect, which can be interpreted as a one-pattern accent. After analyzing the tonal features of both dialects from four perspectives, the following results were found. (1) The Miyakonojo dialect is a one-pattern accent type with only one pitch pattern, while the Goseong dialect is a one-pattern accent type with several pitch patterns. (2) In the Miyakonojo dialect, segments do not affect the determination of pitch patterns, but in the Goseong dialect, the pitch of the first syllable is determined by the long vowels. (3) The clitics of both dialects are classified into those affecting and those not affecting the determination of pitch patterns. The former creates a new accent unit in the Miyakonojo dialect and determines the falling position in the Goseong dialect. On the other hand, the latter has the same characteristics as when words are used alone in both dialects. (4) Non-connective and connective forms are confirmed only in the Goseong dialect; they distinguish whether there is a fall.
