Dietrich Bonhoeffer was martyred while resisting the Nazi regime by practicing the key teaching of Jesus Christ, peace. Dietrich Bonhoeffer's greatest contribution was to emphasize the Christian's duty and responsibility by way of justice and peace, along with peace. At Tegel prison Dietrich Bonhoeffer addressed the question of, “Who is Jesus Christ for us today?” This question lies at the heart of Dietrich Bonhoeffer's theology and life. While being a witness concerning this question, Dietrich Bonhoeffer was executed by the Nazi regime at Flossenburg concentration camp on April 9, 1945. As early as April 1933 Dietrich Bonhoeffer already accepted the Jewish Question as the responsibility of the German Christian. Bonhoeffer's resistance was an act of political responsibility arising from the decision of the Christian’s faith. Dietrich Bonhoeffer‘s prayer and decision for the practice of justice was an act of responsibility for the sake of one's neighbor and the coming generation in order to enact peace. Dietrich Bonhoeffer's resistance was not enacted from a normal situation but as the last resort. Dietrich Bonhoeffer's resistance needs to be understood from the standpoint of responsible ethics for the disciple of Christ.
