Report Errors
This study intended to analyze existing theoretical discussions on school consulting by borrowing the view of service marketing to induce voluntary purchase by customers. Therefore, the literature related to service marketing was analyzed to derive the components of service marketing. And based on them, this study analyzed reports and volumes that aggregated theoretical discussions on school consulting. As a result, we found a lot of discussions that share the main concept, theory and problem consciousness of service marketing. However, such discussions have the limits of being at a superficial and short-sighted level. Based on these findings, six directions for future theoretical discussion on school consulting were presented. First, the paradigm of theoretical discussion about school consulting needs to shift from the "teaching" paradigm to the "learning" paradigm. Second, the discussion on school consulting needs to focus more on student learning, and as a part of this, the inclusion of learning consulting and parent consulting under the scope of school consulting is needed. Third, it is necessary to seek dialogue, coexistence, and inclusion with various mechanisms for school reform and teacher development that compete with school consulting. Fourth, it is necessary to expand the interest in the participants or the characteristics of participants, which were relatively neglected in the discussion about school consulting. Fifth, interest in school consulting in areas and ways that school members feel less burdened should be expanded. Sixth, it is necessary to emphasize empirical research on the status, effects, strategies, and tasks of school consulting.
