This study focuses on analyzing the repressed memories of Ng Kim Chew, one of the writers representing the Malaysian-chinese literature, in a certain way and in what aspects are reproduced in literature and what its meaning is. For this research, the analysis of literary texts and understanding of the history and speciality of Malaysian-chinese society must be preceded. Furthermore, understanding of local concepts from sociological aspects should be set. It should also be recognized that the people of the world, who have undergone the process of modernization and have been separated by national, ethnic, or lineage, are no longer be parted within a national or economic boundaries. This is an era of transnational movement caused by the development of science, and people living across borders for various reasons. With this study, I expect it to be meaningful to suggest another perspective on Ng Kim Chew’s literature in the specific field of study. The reproduction of repressed memories in the novel was largely expressed in terms of narrative techniques, either direct or indirect. It used a method that was described in literary terms in a largely metaphorical way. And again, the author described it with an emotional explosion, and sometimes with emotion blocked by an extremely restrained expression. Describing the circumstances of the damaged Malaysian-chinese, whether they like it or not, this article can be seen as a way of grasping the message of the characters derived from these narratives. From the suppressed memories stained with anger and trauma, the repressive state of the self that the narrator is experiencing in the novel is severe enough to be diagnosed neurotically.
