Ectopic thyroid tissue is a rare developmental abnormality and commonly could be found in the base of the tongue, it could also be found in the submandibular or sublingual sites, larynx, trachea, esophagus, mediastinum and heart. Primary intrathoracic goiter is defined as the thyroid tissue present in the mediastinum in the presence of the cervical thyroid and there is a total discontinuity between the cervical thyroid and the mediastinal ectopic goiter. Primary intrathoracic ectopic goiter is rare and primary multiple intrathoracic ectopic goiter is very rare. A 48-year-old woman visited in our outpatient clinic with a complaint of dry cough during 3 weeks. We report a case of surgically removed primary multiple intrathoracic goiters with normal thyroid gland.
