The purpose of this study was to investigate whether PBL classes through team activities are effective in enhancing convergence competence of college students who were in a different major. To identify changes in convergence competence, a survey instrument(the situation judgment type test sheet) was provided to 88 respondents who had taken 'human development and convergent thinking' in the second semester of 2019 at A University in Chungnam province. In addition, PBL performance reflection was analyzed to confirm perceptions and attitudes about PBL class activities. This study found followings; First, PBL class was effective in improving convergence competence of the college students. Second, there was a significant difference in the convergence competence according to students' participation in PBL class activities. Third, PBL class showed the effects of convergence competence building for the second and third grade students. Fourth, students insisted on the positive effects of 'expansion of thought', 'increased interest in other majors', 'applicability in the major field', and 'the importance of collaboration and communication' through the PBL class activities. This study shows that PBL class is effective in enhancing convergence competence.
