Association between Discrimination and Self-rated Health Among Single-mothers

Report Errors

This study examined the association between perceived discrimination and self-rated health among single-mothers. For the purpose, this study 1, 559 sampled single-mothers from the Single-parents survey carried out by Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in 2015. The results are as follows. This study assessed perceived discrimination for the five different community situations such as public office, neighbor and workplace to examine its association with self-rated health. This study found a significant association between the discrimination at five different community situation and bad health. And perceived discrimination was associated with self-rated health after adjusting socio-economic variable. Based on the results, I proposed campaign and education for reducing discrimination against single-mothers and implications for health improvement of single-mothers.
