Twenty-three Confucius institutes in Korea have been engaged in various Chinese language education activities. The study aims to investigate the Chinese language education at all Confucius Institutes and to learn more about the current status and characteristics of in-house education that is the most basic types of education. Through the case of Confucius Institutes at C University, the study also looks into the status based on course operation, teaching materials, student status, status by teacher type, education management system, and student survey results. Through this study, many Chinese learners in Korea are striving to learn Chinese in a quality educational environment, understand Chinese people and Chinese culture correctly, and thus help Confucius institutes establish itself as an institution specializing in Chinese education.
