The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of corporate sustainability management on social capital formation. We conducted surveys on March 1, 2017 and April 10, 2017, and used 418 collected survey data for empirical analysis. This study uses structural equation model analysis. From the results of the study, we can deduce that companies adopting SM have a positive impact on social capital. To elaborate, a company discharging its economic responsibility has a positive impact on the social capital factors, which include the firm’s trust, networks for cooperation, and reciprocity norms. However, it does not have a statistically significant effect on the ethical base of society, and discharging its social and environmental responsibility has positive effects on a firm’s trust and networks for cooperation. The results of this study demonstrate that a company practicing SM enhances its trust, honesty, and customer care, has a positive impact on the established norms associated with the company, and a positive impact on social capital.
