A Research on the Universality of idiotic Images in Korean and Turkish Tales Named “Sekki Soe Bal” and “Keloğlan and Princess” Cho, Hong-Youn·Kahrıman, Merve·Son, Young-Eun In this study, searching the meaning and problems of human life implicit in the idiotic images in the narratives is aimed through the data partaking in the category of “Keloğlan and Princess” amongst Turkey’s “Keloğlan Stories” which was obtained as a result of the field works. At the same time it’s been compared with the Korean tale “Sekki Soe Bal”. The universal issues and solution methods brought by the idiotic Images in Turkish and Korean stories were attempted to be detected perceptibly. This is an expectation originating from universal idiotic Images that gives enlightenment about “what the real human is” by turning society’s common thought upside down about the “normality” things that take place in the category of the idiot's success stories. As a result of the researches, it can be said that it has a big importance how the main characters of both stories search the possibilities of eternal life by eluding from the frame of normality through their own inadequacies. Thus the readers are able to have the opportunity to turn around and look at their own self that is blindly bound up to the things that are symbolized and accepted as normality by their visible moral judgements. At the same time, like both main characters, the readers have the chance of having a conscious alteration they can live freely by eluding from the bond. This research is the first comprehensive study on “Keloğlan Stories” which is not well known in Korea. It also has a big importance as it may contribute as means in Korea-Turkey literary researches and emotional communication. Further more, via this research, the power and the value of stories of idiot around the world that was brought up by universal idiotic Images, could be understood. “Sekki Soe Bal” being in the first place, it can be said that it has a big importance in the aspect of understanding the position and importance of narratives that take place in Korea’s category of idiot's success stories.
