As the interest and aesthetic desire of modern people increased, the nail industry became an independent industrial area in Korea. In line with this trend, the number of educational institutions that open nail beauty courses is steadily increasing.
In recent years, the attention of the self-directed learning method is not only to deliver nail technology, but also to train nail beauty with creative expertise. Therefore, Blended Learning, where learners learn self-directedly, is appropriate because it is a simple way for learners to deviate from the current method of mimicking the instructor"s demonstration.
Therefore, this study designed a blended learning type of nail beauty education class model using smart devices. After applying the designed class model to the actual class, we examined the suitability of the blended nail beauty class model.
The results of this study are as follows.
First, the theoretical background of blended learning and smart devices was reviewed and based on this, the class model was designed to reflect the nature of nail beauty education. Second, the blended learning area was selected as content, place, medium, environment, and strategy. The content was theory and practice, the place was in and out of the classroom, the medium was the internet, and the environment was online and offline. It consists of learning and individual learning. Third, the nail beauty class model was designed by applying the steps of the direct teaching method to the class in the classroom and the self-directed learning method for the class outside the classroom. Fourth, smart contents for using smart devices are constructed. Smart contents were designed by classifying into instructor and learner areas using cafe application of internet portal site. Fifth, this study revised and supplemented the class model by applying the first class model developed to learners and deriving improvement points.
