Modern dance in Korea have continuously been developed since 1926 when it was introduced in Korea. However, it has been depressed due to economic crisis in Korea, which resulted in significant reduction of number of performances. This study is to find out ways to revitalize modern dance in Korea through a questionnaire survey and interviews with dancer, lecturers and professional in this area, data which was collected has been processed by SPSS Windows. (version 10) The conclusion of this study is as follows; Firstly, most of respondents think that modern dance in Korea has not been fully activated and there are chances to be revitalized. Secondly, the most important reason for modern dance in Korea being not activated is lack of general preception on the modern dance. Thirdly, to activate modern dance in Korea an increase of an audience is essential and for this several factors should be secured such as improvement of marketing capability, development of quality of performances and production of quality works to be easily understandable by audiences. Finally, various places for performances should be provided, popularity of performances should be created and foreign dance companies should be invited as much as possible.
