A new grafting cactus ( ) cultivar Sinseong was developed by the National HorticulturalResearch Institute, Rural Development Administration in 1999. Total of 400 seeds produced from crossing between 931053 andG. mihanovichii cv. Hongil were sown in vitro in 1996. Succesfuly germinated 138 seedlings grafted onto Hylocereus trigonusirperformance such as globe and tubercle color, shape, rib and spine characteristics, and growth vigor. And finally line code9610004V2 was selected with excellence in shape and growth vigor. The selected line was named as Sinseong. The cultivar wasl-lows: The color of body and tubercles were all clear pink. Flat round globe had 8 to 9 ribs with medium depth. Easy to graft dueto the short and straight spines with brown color. Increasement of the diameter of the body globe was similar to Gonji as to reacholor,making up for the shortage of decolorization of Gonji in later growth stage, the preference for the consumers was good.
