Based on recent increase in national interest and demands on the ecological stream, the stream restoration project has been carried out. This study has analyzed the land-cover, NDVI, and land surface temperature before and after ecological stream restoration of Taewha River. To achieve this, the land-cover and NDVI distribution maps have been prepared on KOMPSAT-2 image data, and the image data of Landsat-5 and Landsat-8 was used to prepare the land surface temperature distribution maps. Due to decreased bare land over resent years and changing to vegetation or urban, the topic of land-cover change before and after of ecological stream restoration has been researched in this paper. Particularly in section C, urban increased and vegetation largely decreased. This resulted from the increased sports facilities, such as sports fields and repaired walk paths based on the composition of the Taewha River National Park. Similarly, NDVI also represents a generally low value compared to before stream restoration. In the land surface temperature change analysis, the land surface temperature displays a decrease in all regions except for section D, and this shows similar tendencies in the land-cover analysis and the NDVI analysis. Obtaining data on land surface characteristics by continually monitoring ecological stream restoration areas is expected to be used as basic data for planning and effectively managing ecological stream restoration.
