N-(sulfanylethanoyl)-L-HSL derivatives, 2 analogs of N-(fluoroalkanoyl)-L-HSL derivatives, N-(fluorosulfonyl)-L-HSL, and 2,2-dimethylbutanoyl HSL were synthesized using a solid-phase organicsynthesis method. Each of the 1 synthesized compounds wasanalyzed using NMR and mass spectroscopies, and molecularmodeling studies of the 11 ligands were performed usingSYBYL packages. Thereafter, a bacterial test was designedantifouling efficacy. Most of the synthesized compounds werefound to be effective as quorum-sensing antagonists, whereantagonist screening revealed that 10 among the 11 synthesizedligands were able to antagonize the quorum sensing of A.tumefaciens.
