Agricultural Cooperatives have been carrying out various methods to adapt to the changes in the agricultural situation. For the adaptation to changes, we have to improve the efficiency of management in Agricultural Cooperatives in advance. The major objective of this study is to measure the productive efficiency of merged and non-merged the Regional Agricultural Cooperative by DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) model The sample group for merged and non-merged Regional Agricultural Cooperative is selected in Gyeong-gi province during the period from 1990 to 2002. The research results are as follows : Firstly, the efficiency scores of the merged group are not superior to those of their peer group, which is the non-merged one. Secondly, comparing efficiency scores according to merged date does revealed any difference between earlier and later merged ones. in comparison with efficiency of urban and rural Agricultural Cooperatives according to the location type, there is statistically meaningful difference in average efficiency. Thirdly, efficiency scores of the newly merged Regional Agricultural Cooperative group are superior to those of newly merged one. There was difference in efficiency among the ACCs according to characteristics such as the size, location, and the merging status.
