To examine Sino‐Korean reflected in contemporary dictionaries from a synchronic viewpoint, in spite of being the same head characters, there are many cases that Sino‐Korean are often reflected at random in Chinese dictionary. Therefore, it is a risky interpretation to discuss the aspect of Sino‐Korean in Korea by simply comparing only the appearance of Sino‐Korean reflected in each contemporary Chinese dictionary, and it is necessary to consider the correspondence between Banjeol and Sino‐Korean presented by Chinese dictionary. Also, in contemporary dictionaries, there are many examples in which the Sino‐Koreanis differently reflected in Chinese dictionary despite the same Banjeol character. This is a serious problem because it makes it difficult for people using Chinese dictionary to judge what is right or wrong and causes confusion about Sino‐Korean in contemporary Korean. The purpose of this study is to examine the aspect of Sino‐Korean reflected in contemporary dictionaries. However, simply comparing and contrasting Sino‐Korean may lead to errors in interpretation of Sino‐Korean in contemporary Korean. Therefore, this study aims to examine the aspects and characteristics of Sino‐Korean reflected in contemporary dictionaries more precisely, focusing on the correspondence between Banjeol and Sino‐Korean.
