]This manuscript have a thorough comparative consideration of the gilt-bronze incense burner of Baekje and processes of the Dragon and Phoenix's pattern in ancient China as a historical phase. Chinese historical tradition leave a great store of the remains and documentary records, The matter of the historical transition of the Dragon and Phoenix's pattern have a good point in analogical inference. In Chapter from two to four, the research on recordation of initial stages the Dragon and Phoenix's Pattern is provided in the Ancient times[In Chapter two, till Chunqiu-Zhanguo(春秋戰國) Dynasties Periods]. Consulting the origin of the Dragon and Phoenix's totem, mythological stories and the historical remains, it is arranged according to the partition on different periods in Chinese ancient history. Among them, the Dragon and Phoenix's Pattern of Chu(楚) culture with significant and characteristic pictures are unique. Since Qin(秦) Dynasty, many artistic patterns, including the Dragon and Phoenix's Pattern, were created to the fine arts. in Han(漢)-Xijin(西晉) Dynasties a new Formation of the Four God's Figures appeared upon the scene of the history, too. In the period of Northern and Southern Dynasties, the native-born Taoism and the Buddhism was brought into China had been spreaded all over China. Therefore, the Dragon and Phoenix's Pattern represent by way of ornament. Among the above-mentioned the historical transition of the Dragon and Phoenix's pattern in ancient China, the Dragon and Phoenix's pattern on the gilt-bronze incense burner of Baekje has an unique aspect. That is to say, the Phoenix pattern lidded incense burner and Dragon patterned prop was formed by the upper and lower sides parts in the same breath.
