The purpose of this research is to propose a methodology of cross linguistic analysis of Korean collocations. As a part of multiligual collocation research project, we selected 5000 Korean collocations based on the notion of ‘restricted and bound collocations’, and then tried to build a multi-lingual collocation database by representing their equivalents in six target languages : Spanish, English, Russian, Italian, French and German. Recently, contrastive studies on collocations have been a major concern not only in theoretical linguistics but also in applied linguistic studies such as language teaching, translation and lexicography. In this work, we provide a cross linguistic correspondence patterns, especially contrastive aspects of Korean collocations with their Spanish and Italian equivalents, are suggested.
