In this paper, make a try study on chinese literati's conception of sacrificial rituals viewing from the story of 'Qu-Dao enjoys water chestnut'. From ancient times chinese social with a developed the proprieties system, all sorts of the proprieties is always have an interest things. Especially, a Confucian don’t believe in the life after death, because sacrificial rituals is importance means link of the past time and the present time and the future time. Accordingly ancient chinese literati's from official nation's sacrificial rituals to personal an ancestor's sacrificial rituals always mutually discuss. So, if consider a related sentence, can ascertain understanding and a sense of values of the proprieties. The pre-sent writer focus on this point, in order to consideration chinese literati's conception of surrounding the story of 'Qu- Dao enjoys water chestnut'. In the text, first of all inquire on the origin and an example of the story of 'Qu Dao enjoys water chesnut'. The story of 'Qu Dao enjoys water chesnut' appear on 『GuoYu』 ｢Qu-Jianjifubuqianji(屈建祭父不薦芰)｣. This sentence mainly praise Qu-Jian's action. After this, ancient chinese literati's majority knew it, frequently uses this story. Formal discussion from begin at Tang dynasty's literati Liu-ZongYuan. His comment ｢FeiGuoYu·ShiJi｣attack Qu-Jian's observe the proprietie. In Song dynasty Su-Shi's ｢Qu- Daoshijilun(屈到嗜芰論)｣ use in quantity an authentic precedent and a metaphorical expression point out ｢Shiji(嗜芰)｣'s mistakes. In Ming dynasty Wang-ShiZhen's ｢Duchuyulun(讀楚語論)｣ align with Liu-ZongYuan's opinion. In Qing dynasty Yuan-Mei's ｢Bosuziqudaoshijiyi(駁蘇子屈到嗜芰議)｣ still against on Su-Shi's opinion. Meanwhile, Emperor QianLong in order to edited 『Tangsongwenchun(唐宋文醇)』, among the rest in the ｢Qu-Daoshijilun｣'s criticism take a neutral attitude. In view of these facts, We can understand the ancient chinese literati's conception of sacrificial rituals viewing.
