In this paper, the primary research focused on metaphor and metonymy, which have the most important positions in metaphor and rhetoric. We first look into the essential concepts of metaphors and metonymy, and then look at their expressions, meanings, functions, and effects in a multifaceted way based on the results that have been studied. Next, the author attempts to demarcate the boundaries between metaphors and metonymy. In general, the speakers use metaphor and metonymy at the same time, and they are going to freely cross the boundary, and this paper is designed to look into the boundary and concept classification in the middle of the text. In the last chapter of this article, it will be examined whether the representative metaphors and expressions of metonymy in English, Korean, Russian and Bulgarian are correctly translated into corresponding language by using the Google and Naver translators, which are becoming a hot topic nowadays, and it will propose the linguistic improvement methods of this. In this thesis, for the correct machine translation of these metaphor expressions, the accuracy improvement through multi-layered HHMM models and a number of two-dimensional vector formation clusters, the determination of the true value(true or false) of the first machine translated sentence, and provide the second variant of translated statement. These studies will be important prior studies for more complete verbal communication and machine translation between humans and computers in the future.
