The domestic knowledge service industry has emerged as a key sector, also represents an industry while the existing industries take labor, capital and land as important productive factors. This research classifies the products and services of knowledge service industry in Korea, and examines the development process and current status of knowledge service industry. It also analyzes the economic ripple effects(in terms of Production Inducement Effect, Added Value Inducement Effect, Import Inducement Effect, Labor Inducement Effect) of knowledge service industry in 2010, using an input-output analysis of the bank of Korea(2009). I show that the economic ripple effect of knowledge service industry is much higher than added value inducement effect and labor inducement effect of the average effect of total industries. This result suggests that from the aspect of national level the appropriate industrial policy for knowledge service industry should be developed. It is also expected that the results will be the basic resources of knowledge service industry not only for academic research, but also for the strategies of firms and industries
