The US-Iraq war in 2003 will have great impacts on the future of Iraq, the course of US foreign policy, Middle-East regional politics, as well as on the future world politics. One way to analyze the transformation of international politics at various levels is to examine the process of postwar settlement in Iraq. The US is now in the midst of postwar settlement in political, economic, and social areas, at the same time rearranging relations with European powers, NATO, and the UN. This article tries to examine the results and changes of postwar settlement, and the long-term impact of the war by looking at the allied powers' policy toward Iraq, Middle East, other big powers, and international institutions.
