Mycoplasma 종이 비뇨생식기 외에서 분리되는 경우는 드물고 대개 면역저하 환자나 수술이나 손상 후 부위에서 발견된다. 저자들은 폐엽절제술 및 신장 이식 후 창상 배양에서 Mycoplasma hominis가 분리된 두 증례 및 대동맥 이식편 교체후 수술 부위에서 발견된 Mycoplasma salivarium 한 예를 보고하고자 한다. 그람 및 항산성 염색에서 관찰되지 않은 작은집락이 혐기성 및 호기성 배양에서 자랐으며 MYCOFAST EvolutionN 2 kit 또는 16s rRNA염기 분석으로 미코플라스마를확인하였다. 창상 검체에서 미코플라스마가 발견되는 경우는 드무므로 미생물은 배양되나 그람 염색상 잘 관찰되지 않는 경우는 미코플라스마 감염을 고려할 것을 권장한다.
