The purpose of this study was to investigate pre-service and in-service teachers’ perceptions on core competency and educational request. The subjects were 312 pre-service and in-service teachers. Stastical methods in this study were t-test, ANOVA and χ2 test via SPSS. Results of this study are followed. First, the average of teacher’s perception on core competency showed significant differences by educational career. Also it seems that the parameters of career cause meaningful differences. In addition, there was significant difference by teaching disposition & professional development competency, curriculum management competency, class management competency, healthㆍsafetyㆍnutrition teaching competency but it seems that there was no significant difference between in-service teachers’ working institution form and teachers’ perception on core competency. The second, considering the average of request for teachers’ core competency by teacher parameters, it seems that there was no significant difference by educational career and teaching career, and working institution form of in-service teachers. The third, the result of research on comparing the average of educational requests and necessity of pre-service and in-service teachers shows that the significant relationship between teachers’ teaching parameters – teaching form or the period of teaching education.
