In this research, we have planned for users to easily visualize the resolution and color representation of digital ink-jet printer and for them to estimate the performance of the printer by the visualized performance measure. For these purposes, we define the concept of image quality and design the pattern of color representation target which is developed by calculating of digital look up table(LUT) values for 8-bit standard color LUT. This research consists of three things - validation of quantifying the image quality evaluation, generation of color representation target of color LUT, and evaluation of output of the target. We produced six vector graphic targets for quality evaluation of images from ink-jet printers. Consequently, we succeed in visualization and quantification of both image quality of ink-jet printer and evaluation of color representation, and further with this research, it is possible to interpret the color distortion by the ink characteristics from the manufacturers with naked eyes, and to decide the angle regions where the ink-jet printer is not capable of describing the color,because of limitation of vertical and horizontal movement of nozzle. - IH Target ① B/W & Color sharpness evaluation target:IH-RAL Target ② B/W resolution straight lines & curved lines evaluation target:IH-RBC Target ③ Color resolution R.
