There are a lot of minority groups in China. Their life style and costumes have distinctive differences from that of the national majority. Aside from the Han Chinese with the most population, there are 55 minority groups in China. Most of them are widely spread across the 16 provinces and autonomous restricts such as Inner Mongolia, Xingang, Ningxia, and Guangxi. A lot of clear distinctions are seen between different groups when it comes to the culture of costumes; this is because of the differences in regional and life environment. The costume culture of each ethnic group shows the culture, life style and the process of its changing history. Furthermore it is possible to analyze their costumes in photography through which the spirit, life, and the changing process of the people’s culture can be observed in details. In this research we are going to observe the indigenous characteristics of the people of the Chinese nation and the abundant ethnic culture of the Chinese minority groups through the study of Chinese minority race costume photography. Also the photographs of the minority race costume have been analyzed in two different perspectives including the effective photography method of the minority groups’ beautiful costume.
