본 연구에서는 양극성 장애 외래 환자가 사용할 수 있는 자가 기분기록지를 개발하고 타당도 및 유용성을 검증하였다. 한국의 임상현장에서 기분기록지는 양극성 장애 환자의 치료반응 및 장기간 경과를 파악하는 데 있어 의미 있는 보조도구가 될 수 있을 것으로 보인다. 향후 환자용 기분기록지가 병식이나 치료 순응도의 향상, 재발의 조기 발견, 경과와 관련된 요인 탐구 등에도 긍정적 역할을 할 수 있는지 검증할 수 있는 후속 연구들이 필요할 것으로 보인다. 또한 일차 의료기관이나 정신병원 등 다양한 진료 환경에서 적용할 수 있는지에 관한 연구도 필요할 것으로 보인다.
