프로포폴은 짧은 시간이 소요되는 수술 및 시술 시행 시수면마취를 위해 널리 사용되는 약제이다. 이로 인한 순환계및 호흡기계 부작용은 널리 알려져 있으나 스트레스 유발성심근병증은 국내에서 현재까지 보고된 바가 없다. 저자들은기저질환 없는 젊은 여성 환자에서 프로포폴 수면유도 후 스트레스 유발성 심근병증이 발생한 드문 증례를 보고하는 바이다.
