The purpose of this study was to investigate brain activation pattern and functional connectivity network during hypothesis-evaluating on biological phenomena. Twenty six right-handed healthy science teachers volunteered to be in the present study. To investigate participants' brain activities (BOLD signals) during taking the tasks, 3.0T fMRI system with the block designed paradigm and the SPM2 software package were applied to the analysis of the acquired initial image data from the fMRI system. According to the analyzed results, left superior frontal gyrus, bilateral middle frontal gyrus, left inferior frontal gyrus, bilateral precuneus, right inferior parietal lobule, left middle occipital gyrus, right lingual gyrus, left cingulate gyrus, right culmen, bilateral declive, and right pyramis were significantly activated during participants' carrying-out hypothesis evaluation. The network model was consisting of eight nodes (ROIs) and its eight connections. These results suggested that the hypothesis evaluation process was not success just participants' make a choice of truth or falsehood. These results is presumable interpret scientific experimental design process from the cognitive neuroscience perspective. Also this study may be used as basic strategy for developing a teaching-learning program for scientific hypothesis-evaluating such as neural-network-based science education curriculum.
