The purpose of this study is to analyze questions of regular high school exams and SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) of biology, and to examine educational implications of them. As a result, there is different percentage of exam questions by content category in both SAT and regular high school exams. It was found that the exam questions were related to specific units and content categories to set questions in school biology examinations seemed to be affected by SAT. In the behavior domain, the trend of school exams are concentrated on scientific knowledge whereas the percentage of science inquiry domain is higher in SAT. The questions of scientific inquiry process skills are focused too much on the data interpretation in both SAT and regular high school exams. In order to develop students' abilities of inquiry, the exams should be reflect all scientific inquiry process skills. Especially, the SAT which is a national assessment should reflect evenly all content categories and scientific inquiry process skills based on school curriculum, because it can influence on school education. To improve the problems of the results of this study, school teachers have to make better efforts for the proper exams while they should change their point of views about the assessment. Furthermore, it should be the training courses and guides persistently provided for school teachers.
