This study is about the status of the wages and labor conditions of Korean MICE industry workers. For this purpose, I surveyed the human resource manager of the MICE planning companies, MICE facility companies, MICE service companies, and MICE supporting institutions to analyse the status of wages, work hours, length of service and turnover rate.
The results of this study are as follows: First, the working hours and the turnover rate of middle managers were the highest and the length of service has been shortened. As a result, it is difficult to secure middle management staff and develop career opportunities. Second, the working hours of MICE planning managers were the longest, while the wage level was the lowest. As a result, the turnover rate of MICE planning managers was the highest. Given the lack of MICE planning managers, these working conditions seem to contribute to further expanding the outflow of related personnel.
Therefore, for the effective human resource management, it will be necessary to motivate MICE industry workers and improve their labor conditions.
