In this research were investigated of the perception of crime and its affection on fear of crime. The perception of crime were composed of subordinate variable, precisely the estimation of the frequency of the crime incident, its level of interest, the evaluation of the crime defense ability and the awareness of the risk of crime damage. Thus, except the crime frequency in town, all variables played a role, especially the most was the perceived risk of crime. Also, a sample group were divided into gender, to investigate the difference of the perception and fear of crime, and the influencing factor of fear. As a result, the level of the difference of the fear of crime of men and women appeared in every type of crimes, and women showed a higher level of fear of crime. The result of the regression analysis shows that fear of crime of men (R² = .38) in comparison with women (R² = .20) could be a more useful variable. Men showed less actual interest in crime incident than that of the actual crime defense ability which was influencing fear of crime, whereas women were more sensitively influenced of crime incidents. In conclusion, the frail hypothesis that women’s lack of perception of fear of crime is an influencing factor of fear of crime, is not useful and a perceived psychologically dimensionalized approach is more necessary than physical approach.
