This manuscript reviewed on diachronic that background of Jiang-xi School of Poetry(江西詩派) was becoming popular and aspects that Chosun Dynasty of Poets accepted Jiang-xi School of Poetry First, we looked at the background of Jiang-xi School of Poetry becoming popular again. Chosun Dynasty of Poets in the 18th century emphasized only individuality and external beauty and did not care about the theme or function of the poem. Thus, the tendency to write bizarre poems was prevalent. This trend continues in the 19th century. To solve this problem, They looked again Allegory(諷諭) of Shijing(詩經) and Du Fu(杜甫)’s realistic poetical style as an alternative, though outdated. and put emphasis what be put in discussion(議論) such as edification of custom and criticism of reality In addition, Chinese writers who friendly about Poetry of Song Dynasty(宋詩) (for example Weng Fang-Gang(翁方綱), Qian Qianyi(錢謙益)) and be come in Yingkuilusui(瀛奎律髓) that it is be revered jiang-xi School of Poetry. So Chosun Dynasty of Poets attend Jiang-xi School of Poetry again. The aspect of Jiang-xi School of Poetry appeared from the beginning to the end of the 19th century. At first, it appeared only among some people living in or near Seoul. but after 19th half of the century, the phenomenon was seen all degree of person who live in on entire country. Second, most of the people who supported Jiang-xi School of Poetry were very smart. Finally, poets who be embraced Jiang-xi School of Poetry suffered most of the people's hardships and sorrows together. because they inherit the spirit of a Du Fu's spirit. so they became a participatory trend in criticizing and accusing political and social irregularities. In conclusion, the early days Chosun Dynasty poets concentrated on learning how to write a poem but poets who lived in 19th century were tried to learn about the serious creative attitude and their spirit that emphasized the social function of poetry who Jiang-xi School of Poetry.

본고에서는 19세기 조선 시단에 江西詩派가 유행하게 된 배경과 19세기 조선의 시인들이 강서시파를 수용한 양상에 대해 통시적으로 검토하였다. 먼저 강서시파가 다시 유행하게 된 배경을 살펴보면, 18세기 조선의 시인들이 개성과 외형적인 아름다움 및 예술성을 강조하는 시풍에 매료되어 시의 주제나 기능에 대해서는 신경을 쓰지 않고 난삽하고 기괴한 시를 쓰는 풍조가 만연하게 되었다. 19세기에도 이러한 풍조가 이어지는데 이 문제점을 해결하기 위한 대안으로 진부하지만 다시 『詩經』의 諷諭정신과 杜甫의 현실주의 시풍을 주목하여 풍속의 교화, 현실의 비판 등 議論이 담긴 시를 중시하게 되었다. 여기에 더하여 宋詩에 대해 우호적이었던 翁方綱, 錢謙益 등 중국 문인들과 강서시파를 추숭하며 편찬된 『영규율수』 등이 유입되면서 조선의 시인들이 다시 강서시파를 주목하게 된 것이다. 19세기 조선시단에 나타난 강서시파의 수용 양상은 첫째, 시간적으로는 19세기 초부터 말기에 걸쳐 두루 나타나고, 서울이나 서울 근처에 거주하던 일부 계층에서 보이던 현상이 후반에 이르면 전국 각지로 확산되어 보편화되는 양상을 보였다. 둘째로, 강서시파를 옹호한 인물들은 깊은 학식을 갖추었다는 평가를 받은 인물들이었다. 마지막으로 강서시파를 수용한 시인들은 대부분 두보의 시 정신을 이어받아 백성들의 고난이나 애환을 함께 아파하고, 정치와 사회의 여러 부조리를 비판하고 고발하는 현실참여적인 시풍을 지니게 되었다. 결론적으로 조선 전기 해동강서시파 시인들이 강서시파의 작법적인 측면을 배우는데 치중하였다면, 19세기 시인들은 강서시파의 진지한 창작 자세와 시의 사회적 기능을 강조하였던 그들의 시 정신을 배우고자 하였던 것이다.
