Historical memory is an asset that can be shared by everyone regardless of the restriction of time and space. It is worthy developing a perspective for understanding the present by handling a past phenomenon which appeared in different place and time. The purpose of this article is to explain the destructive force in the context of German National Socialism, a new nationalism, and to reflect the meaning of nation today. The focus will be laid on the negative aspects of nation. But history shows the nation doesn’t appears always as a destructive forces. Paradoxically, the German case is a good example for this. The nation which appeared in the foreground of history in the event of the German reunification led to the end of the dictatorial socialism of the East Germany, the democracy in Europe as well, and finally the reconciliation and integration of European countries. But this aspects will not be treated in this article. Nevertheless it can be emphasized that a peace-making dialectic of wars, division of the nation and reunification as in the case of the German experience can serve as a clue to answer not only the peace questions of Korea which is divided into two nations but also of Northeast Asia which is still characterized as an age of conflict and rivalries.
