Hair straightener is a popular beauty product in the Korea. The morphological damages of hair caused by using hair straightener has led to this study. Women’s hair damages after 1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks respectively to application by hair straightener from A and B company products was investigated using scanning electron microscopy. It was conformed that the morphological changes of hair increasing to the using times of straightener. In the hair using straightener for three weeks, its surface scratched along the longitudinal axis and was appear to detachment of the cuticular cells of outmost. Four weeks applied hair showed that the straightener of B company lead to more coarse surface than product from A. Application to the hair during Four weeks showed cuticular detachment of some palace of there. As a result, the degree of the hair damage by using hair straightener was determinate of ceramic plates quality and force of grip during operation of straightener.
