The unification education in kindergarten is a foundation for school unification education and has been included in National Kindergarten Curriculum. National Kindergarten Curriculum have been revised 8 times since the First Curriculum established in 1969 by Ministry of Education. The purpose of this study was to analyze the changes of the National Kindergarten Curriculum for unification education. To this end the objectives and contents of National Kindergarten Curriculum from the 1st to 6th revision, 2007 revised Curriculum, and current 3-5 Nuri Curriculum, focusing on the curriculum area of "Social Relationships" were analyzed. 'Curriculum Manual' and the 'Kindergarten Teacher's Guidebooks for Curriculum Activities' were also included as analysis resources. Unification education in National Kindergarten Curriculum has been changed from anti-communism education to unification security education, and to unification education, both on the notification level which is promulgated by Ministry of Education and practical level which is presented in the guide books for teachers. From the lst to the 3rd curriculum, the unification education is characterized as ‘an anti-communism education’. Objectives and contents related unification attempted kindergarteners to have an negative attitudes to communism and justification of unification through anti-communism. Activities also point to North Korean threat and the miserable life conditions of North Korean. In the 4th Curriculum, the unification education is ‘an national security education’. The term of ‘anti-communism’ was not used, but instead ‘peaceful unification’ was used. The objective, contents were about knowing the reality of division of Korea. But some of activities suggested had negative and hostile attitude toward North Korea. From 5th Curriculum to the current Nuri Curriculum, unification education is characterized as an ‘unification education’, emphasizing more objective understanding of North Korea, national community, peaceful unification. Based on the results, some suggestions and strategies were discussed to develop the future curriculum for unification education.
