Concluded during the Korean War, R.O.K.-U.S alliance has played the most important role in deterring war in Korean peninsula and keeping national security in South Korea for 50 years. But after The Cold War, with the dissolution of bipolar system, the international order, East Asian order and inter-Korean relations are changing basically. According to those circumstances, lots of studies on R.O.K.-U.S alliance were conducted to focus on changing characteristics, structural reformation and expected features of alliance in the future. Most of them explained R.O.K.-U.S alliance as asymmetric alliance under the strong nations leading the weak nations one-sidedly. Although allowing these assertions, this thesis proves that asymmetric alliance relations could change into symmetric alliance relations by domestic variables in the weak nations and R.O.K.-U.S alliance is the appropriate case.
