The Collective Education of North Korea is based on Juche thought and is taken aim at the making of human being for socialism. In this the attribute of the western modernity is succeeded and de- veloped. Somewhat the representative educational thought which has been ruled south Korea is the thought of John Dewey. After the 1945 Liberation of Korea we introduce the John Dewey and receive American education through understanding him. But we can not must be overlook the modernity of Dewey’s thought. Dewey criticised the collectivism and also collectivist of North Korea criticised the thought of Dewey and R. Rorty, too. Nevertheless they are much like in modernity as their differency. Because both of them success and transfer the collectivism and individualism of western modernity, in proper form of each own country. The collectivism of North Korea is succeeded the collective education of labour-self education in modern age. Also individualists of Dewey strengthen the natural development of pupil's growth and individual peculiarity. They are instrument of social development. So the individualists and the collectivists, all they keep up the improvement of scientific technique and objectifying of a social law. When we compare with the collective education of North Korea and the individual education of J. Dewey we have the view of thought education in integrating both thought. That is to say, we sublate the modernity of both and united them. Now we must not go run a only scientific technique and are concerned about the change of inside. we need the combination of Dewey’s individual peculiarity and consciousness of collectivism. Also we include the thought of respect for natural ecology and korean traditional thought in our education. Because Our traditional thought is integrative thought which unite the individual and whole, subjectivity and objectivity, human being and nature, or god.
