“The Tale of Fisherman and Ifrit” in the Thousand Nights and a Night shows the typical feature of 'Frame Story'. “The Tale of Fisherman and Ifrit” continues changing the stories as the complicate aspects, showing the true character in the Thousand Nights and a Night. “Fisherman and Ifrit” is regarded as the one of the best tales in the Thousand Nights and a Night. In this article, “Fisherman and Ifrit” is being treated from the aspects of the comparison and analysis between two kinds of the Korean translated Texts. One is translated from Persian Original Version, the other is translated from English Version. The Thousand Nights and a Night was mostly known that it had been transmitted from India and Persia to Arab and Europe, and Hezar Afsaneh had laid the foundation of the Thousand Nights and a Night. In the Medieval times, 『the Thousand Nights and a Night』was translated into Arabic by Ibn Mughafa'(759 D. or 762 D.), the famous Iranian writer. At those times Arabic was the international language in the Islamic World. What is the important thing is not his nationality from Persia but his Thought and Philosophy, which is not included the Arab Islamic Thought. He was not a Muslim but a Manichean. As mentioned in the former part of the Thousand Nights and a Night, the Persian Sasanid(A.D.226-642) Dynasty extended its territory over the Ancient Pakistan, some parts of India and western part of China, like Persian Achaemenid(B.C.559-B.C.330) Dynasty. So the Ancient Tales must be recognized from the point of geographical view at those times. Lately the Thousand Nights and a Night from the Persian Original Version(Hezar-o-Yek Shab in Persian) was translated into the Korean Version with one copy. If the Arabic version will be translated in the future, the patterns of transformation and transmission course of the Texts entirely would be revealed. The Thousand Nights and a Night have had a great influence on the World Literature. Most of people in the World merely consider The Thousand Nights and a Night as the book of the erotic literature, however. Indeed in Korea the Thousand Nights and a Night stands for the Islamic Literature, but the Koreans think the book erotic. In particular, the young who are not aware of the Islamic Literature are apt to misunderstand and distort its Literature.
