St. Elizabeth was born as a hungarian princess and went to Thuringia to be a further landgrave's bride. A political aim caused her marriage. She was married with Ludwig and had three children. She volunteered all her fortune and authority for others. When she was in life, many miracles happened. After her death, more cures happened. People thought that cures occurred by her prayer for sick. She was canonized by Pope Gregorius IX in 1235 because of her loving to poors. A defining word for her is 'love.' She loved not only her husband and children, but she also loved patients and those who were in need. She also loved Jesus Christ and always tried hard to live according to severe religious standards. She gave bread and drink to those who were starving, good care and healing to those who were sick, lowness and great love to God. It made her life great. In this essay, I tried to memorized her life and episodes. And I show so many books, painting, sculptures and catholic art, that contain her cult. Until now cult of St. Elizabeth is remained. On Nov. 17 is her celebration day in Roman Catholic Church. Someone thinks She was a medieval particular Saint. But in her, we can find love and concern to contemporary, especially poor and sick neighbours. Though in rich times, today also many people are starving, living without house, don't have any care. It is needed to give a concern and understanding which Elizabeth gave to them. Saint Elizabeth shows an inner beauty to us who focus on the external beauty. She is a model of an authentic beauty that composed of good deed, good will to others.
