T'oegye is faithful to the basic logic of understanding Being in the Study of Human Nature and Natural Law and see humans as the combination of Reason and Energy. In addition, he explains Human Morality on the basis of this Reason. He thinks that Human Nature is that Frist, Good, Sharp, and Right which are Heaven's operation principles is internalized in humans and the specific contents of this Human Nature are Goodness, Righteousness, Courtesy, and Wisdom. T'oegye lays the possible basis on Human Nature, so he has the viewpoint of absolute affirmation of Human Nature. This means that the content of Reason which is the principle of human Being is Morality. The problem is that in spite of the absolute affirmation of human Being, human behavior contains Evil. T'oegye explains the possibility of Evil on the basis of the property of Energy. Because there are differentiating aspects of the clear and the cloudy and needs, the phenomena of Evil appear. Moral Cultivation is needed on account of this aspect of Energy. The central content T'oegye presents as the method of moral cultivation is Reverence. The ultimate purpose of this moral cultivation is to fulfil moral humans, who is Saints.
