This paper is an attempt to discuss the difference between and sex and ‘sexuality,’ excluding politics of ‘sexual politics in D. H. Lawrence's writingIn Chapter II, I shall examine Lawrence's essential meaning of ‘sexuality’, and show how a lack of understanding derived from the representation of Lawrence's sexuality may occur.In Chapter III, I will argue that Lawrence have sought to escape such confusion of class consciousness through sex and his writing, yet he remained painfully aware of class contradictions in his life and work. His representation of sexual experience need to be read as reflection of the politics of “misrecognition” within individualism, including the mistakes which shaped Lawrence's life and reputation.In Chapter IV, I will discuss that in terms of Millett, it is difficult to explain how Lawrence's novels become both ‘representative’ of sexual politics and yet reducibly personal as expression of Lawrence's authorial ideology. Evidence of the sustained coherence of Millett's critique is provided by her account of difference among Lawrence's novels.In last Chapter V, I will emphasize Lawrence's quality of sexuality, including the dialectical relation of sex and sexuality with the displacement of politics from sexual politics, maintaining that we should read only ‘sexuality’ as a representation of the way the politics of class consciousness are displaced by the ideology of sexuality
