The purposes of this study were not only to manifest the influence of the people with a disability's the acceptance of disability and body image, but also the relationship between the acceptance of disability and body image of them. Individuals with a physical disability participated in this study. 573 participants responded to the questionnair, consisting of the modified version of the acceptance of disability scale (Linkowski, 1969, 1988), the body cathexis scale (Secord & Jourard, 1953) and another body image scale which was constructed after reading about Osgood 's Semantic Difference Method. Responses from 68 participants were excluded because of missing data, resulting 505 participants. Statistics employed for data analyses were frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and correlation analysis. Based upon the results of this study, the following conclusions appear warranted:First, participants with physical disabilities, while participating in sports, show positive acceptance of disability (Self- satisfaction, De-Emphasis on Disability Salience, and Compensatory Behavioral Qualities) and body image, when compared to non-participants. Second, disability acceptance and body image have a positive correlation among participants with physical disabilities in sports.
