The effectiveness of Palmarosa and Neroli essential oil on dry skin of rat induced by kitchen detergent areinvestigated. The experimental groups were divided the control group (C), group treated with surfactant (A1), grouptreated with Palmarosa (A2), group treated with Neroli (A3), group treated with Palmarosa and Neroli (A4). The proteinanalysis of all experimental groups was performed with SDS polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and observation of epi-dermis and the alteration of mast cel were performed with photomicroscope. Acording to the protein analysis, the A3treated with Palmarosa + Neroli esential oil was appeared the most similar with the control group. According to theresults of morphologic view with keratin layer, the keratin layer’s breakaway resulting from Palmarosa essential oil, thekeratin layer’s restoration resulting from Neroli esential oil was appeared. And then the structure of the epidermal layerwas preserved by hyperkeratosis reaction. In photomicrosopic obersevation of mast cell to examine the inflammatoryreactions, the increase in size and number of mast cel were showed in A1 group treated with surfactant compared tothe control group (C). The number of mast cels definitely decreased in groups (A3, A4) which were treated with Neroliessential oil.
