The purpose of the paper is to examine how children’s literature can be integrated to English as a foreign language (EFL) classes at the university level. It is well-known that children’s literature has a great potential for language skill development for L1 and ESL students because it provides various contexts where language skills are used and practiced as a functional tool. Therefore, this study introduces a literature-based English course that was designed and conducted over a semester, demonstrating the plausibility of using children’s literature at a higher level EFL education. Various classroom activities are introduced including the ways to create story maps and to examine story structures and patterns of books, the methods to introduce words and rhyming in books and create them, and the processes to find out dynamics of pictures and images. In addition, students’ reactions to the course are discussed. With English ability improvement, students report that they experienced emotional and psychological growth while engaged in those various activities.
