In the digital urban environment, the media facade building forms make a new color scheme especially in the night-time. This research was decided to understand how the media facade affects urban people. The places of the media facade cases, which were the subject of the study, were visited and directly measured the chromaticity and classified them by types. The chromaticity of the classified type was analyzed and it was measured EEG experimental to see how changed human affective emotions. The cases were of two types: one being the famous media facade “Crystal Mesh” located in Singapore, which was designed by Real United and the other being one of the commercial media facade located in Seoul. The participants were 60 people in total, made up of 30 in males and females and the experimental stimuli were composed of color images composed of the four representative colors extracted through the CIE Color Analyzer program. The results are as follows. From the first case stimuli shows activation at alpha frequency of occipital lobe (P8, Po3, Poz, Po6). It is a region with a higher value than RB and RT in all electrodes. In the second case, RT values were activated in the frontal and left parietal and occipital lobes compared to RA and RB. In the first case, positive activation is seen by the alpha frequency. The activated data values of the RA and RB of the cases were compared with the regions. In the first case, where the RB is activated, the frontal lobes (F7, F5, F1, Fz) of the right brain and the area where the RA is activated in the temporal and parietal lobe area (Tp7, P3, Po3, Poz, Po4, Po6) are seen as the frontal and occipital lobes (O1, Oz, O2) of the left brain. In the second case, activation was higher in RB frequency prefrontal (Fp1, Fpz, Fp2), frontal (F7), temporal and occipital (T7, Po6) than RA. In the remaining region, RA showed higher activation. The purpose of this study is to reflect the emotional preference of pedestrians in the night-time digital color, which is used indiscriminately in the city. The ultimate goal is to provide a database to the designer for understanding the emotional colors that humans feel and to use the color pallets accordingly.
