The name Usando appears in the old Korean literature. First, "there was an "Umbrella" in Ulleungdo in "Samguksagi (1145)" and "Samgukyusa (1281). Second, in the "『Sejongsillog(1454)", "Donggugyeojiseunglam" and "Koryosa", "the Usando and the Ullungdo are not far from each other. And then when the weather is clear and windy did, they can see each others. Third, in "dong-gugmunheonbigo" and others, "Mtsusima which is said by Japan with Ulleungdo is the Usando of Joseon."
This Usando is the current dokdo. The purpose of the study is to show today"s Dokdo of Usando. Because Japanese nationalists are not Korean territory has not dokdo. Rather says Japanese territory is dokdo. They say Usando and Ulleungdo are the same islands. This is to fabricate the logic of Usando. This study corrects these errors.
We analyzed "Usando" in Korea"s old literature. This all Usando is not the modern dokdo. First, Usando is Dokdo in the <jiriji> of Annals of the King Sejong. Usando is Dokdo or Usando is not Dokdo according to one opinion that Usando is Ulleungdo in the book of Donggugyeojiseungnam. This is a vague record. There was an Ahn Yong-bok incident in 1696. Since then, Usando is Dokdo in the all public literature. The representative literature is the "Seonghosaseol".
There is also a misrecorded document. By applying the logic of "Usando is Ulleungdo," they are making the error "Usando=Usando." Because Dokdo is certainly Matsusima now in Japan.
